Announcement: Product Activation Code and Partner Portal

Dear Partners,

Thank you for your long-term partnership and support of RansNet. We wish to update you on some enhancements of our support processes.

As you are aware, RansNet devices (CMG/HSG/UA/HSA/XE) are entitled for below support services and product features, only if they have valid warranty status. 

  • mfusion dashboard access (for remote monitoring and SD-WAN orchestration)
  • Software subscription (for firmware patches and new feature upgrades)
  • Carry-in hardware Return Material Authorization (RMA)
  • Level 3 product level support (eg. bug fixes)

In order to enhance our support, we will implement below practices from 01 July 2024:

  • RansNet will provide a partner portal, where authorized partner admin can login to view each purchased device warranty status, and request for activation code for each device.

The device warranty start date is automatically calculated based on the delivery date (two weeks after DO date), and the warranty end date is based on purchase order duration. The activation code expiry date will be 3 months after the warranty expiry date.

Example 1: (new purchase with default warranty period)

  • Delivery date: 01 July 2024
  • Warranty start: 15 July 2024
  • Default warranty period: 1 year
  • Warranty end: 15 July 2025
  • Activation token expiry: 15 Oct 2025

Example 2: (new purchase with extended warranty period)

  • Delivery date: 01 July 2024
  • Warranty start: 15 July 2024
  • Purchased e-wty period: 2 years (plus 1st default warranty, total 3 years)
  • Warranty end: 15 July 2027
  • Activation token expiry: 15 Oct 2027

Demo/NRF units can request a temporary/3-month activation code for POC.

mfusion will automatically disabled the device host when its warranty status expires. Only active devices (with active status) will be able to fully utilize mfusion monitoring and orchestration capabilities and perform firmware upgrades. 

Future provisioning of devices on mfusion (either cloud or on-premise mfusion) will require the activation code generated from partner portal for each device, and mfusion will auto calculate token expiry date.

However, expired devices will continue to function as standalone devices and can be managed via CLI, but completely losing any other support from RansNet.

  • The partner portal will notify partner admin (via email) 3 months before each device expires.

What happens to existing devices on RansNet cloud mfusion?

  • RansNet cloud mfusion will be upgraded to support activation tokens by the end of June. Each device will automatically be given a 3 month grace period. Partners need to request and update activation code for your devices by end of Aug 2024, else the devices will expire and become disabled on mfusion.

What happens to on-premise mfusion and its existing devices?

  • In order to enjoy new SD-WAN features of mfusion, partners need to upgrade their mfusion, after which it will be enabled with activation code and other new mfusion features.
